April 26, 2009

Our first round of the 2009 Individual Time Trial Series was held Wednesday evening, April 15, 2009.  Thirty members participated in the event.  The cool and windy conditions seemed to affect performances because only six personal records and two Junior Age Group Records were set.

Twenty-four kids/juniors and only six adults competed against the clock on the 1.6-mile circuit at Shannon Way.

Newcomers to our time trial included Kelly Aldridge, Justin Bashe, Jonathan Cucaz, Diana Ramos, and Ben Rothschild.

Joe Rosentel crossed the finish line with the evening's top average speed at 26.979 mph.

David Goodman, 15, was turned in the best Junior average speed and he set a new Boys' Age Group Record with his 25.430 mph.

James Todd broke his own personal record and his Age Group Record for 10-year-old boys, 21.413 mph.

New Personal Records:

FCP/adults

Asha Gummadi

FC Juniors/Kids

Abigail Aldridge, Adi Gummadi, Philip O'Donnell, Christopher Todd

AS ALWAYS, Coach Kelli and I encourage all of our Juniors to participate in every 3.2-mile ITT on the schedule.  Although the time trial is excellent practice for racing, more importantly, we use the results to measure each individual's fitness and progress.
