Our team had another successful race weekend at the Athens Criterium on Saturday, April 25th, and the Historic Roswell Criterium on Sunday, April 26th.  Andrew Macrae, 14, was this weekend's star as he won both Junior 10-14 criterium races in solo fashion by dropping the fields on consecutive days.

Andrew's win in the Athens Criterium was Frazier Cycling's first ever podium placing in the event.  He broke away about halfway through the race and soloed to victory.  Philip O'Donnell attacked late in race and placed third giving Frazier Cycling our second podium position.  Zoe Frazier took the field sprint for fourth place as the top female finisher. 

Prior to this year's result at Athens, our best finish was David Goodman's seventh place in the 2007 Juniors 10-14 race.  This year, we had four performances in the top seven for one of the largest Junior fields in this region:

• Andrew Macrae, 1st place

• Philip O'Donnell, 3rd place

• Zoe Frazier, 4th place

• Melissa Goodman, 7th place

Andrew Macrae continued his hot streak as he had a particularly good day on Sunday.  After another solo breakaway victory in the Junior Men's 13/14 race, Andrew placed fourth in the Men's Category 4/5 race.  There were more than 90 starters in the men's race.  He stayed near the front for most of the race, although he got caught behind a crash about midway through the 40-minute contest.  Fortunately, teammate Philip O'Donnell, 13, paced Andrew back up to the leaders.   Not only did Andrew finish in the money with his fourth place finish in the final mad sprint, but he won a primes in a lap sprint earlier in the race.  His prize was $100 in merchandise.

• Philip O'Donnell was 4th in the Junior Men's 13/14 race.  

• Zoe Frazier won the Junior 13/14 Women's category.  She was 11th in the Women's 3/4 criterium.

• Dominique Shore was 2nd place in Junior 13/14 Women's race. She was 15th in the Women's 3/4 criterium.

• James Todd won the Junior Men's 10-12 race.

• Brody Hartley was second in Junior Men's 10-12 race.

• Abigail Aldridge won the criterium for Junior Women's 10-12.

• Diana Ramos was second in Junior Women's 10-12 race.

• Andrew Hodges was 4th in the Junior Men's 15-16 race.  

• Joe Rosentel placed 11th in the Men's Category 3/4 race.
