Junior Training Plans
6 week plans
These plans are designed to provide training for youth entering their first triathlon. Plans consist of an age- appropriate detailed schedule of day by day activities for ages 7-10, 11-15 and 16-18. The plans are structured in a buildup and taper to prepare for the triathlon. Fun and easy to follow activities allow parents to help motivate their child to develop the necessary fitness to complete their first triathlon in a safe manner. Tips for transition and how to prepare for race day are all inclusive.
12 week plans
Coming Soon: These plans are designed for youth who have performed in a triathlon before but want a plan to follow as they prepare for their next race. 12 week development plan that is age appropriate will help your child reach their goals. Fun easy to follow weekly plans with buildup and recovery including tips for transition, what to wear, how to focus on race day and nutritional guidelines. All plans prepared by USAT coaches and USAC cycling coaches.
Swim Only Plans
Our 6 week swimming plans are for beginner triathletes who are actively running and cycling but need guidance in swim delivery to get them ready for their event. Easy to follow instructions help parents get their triathlete to the pool. The schedule of swim sessions are designed for youth ages 7-10,11-15 and 16-18. Tips for transition and how to prepare for race day are all inclusive. Children are expected to be able to swim 25 yards comfortably.
