Orange County, CA - The first day of
racing at the USA Cycling Junior National Road Race Championships
was very successful for Frazier Cycling Team Members! Fittingly, a
"FRAZIER" became the first Frazier Cycling Member to win a National
Championship. Zoe Frazier was our first team member to race
at this year's USA Cycling Junior National Road Championship. She
began her individual time trial at 2:16 p.m. PT, third starter among her
classification. Zoe raced up from Santiago Canyon on her way
to win our first National Championship "Stars and Stripes" Jersey in
cycling. But her win was not without drama. After she
finished, Zoe had to wait a few nervous minutes and watch her time
remain at the top of the leader board until the final Women's 13-14
starter and favored Karla Lopez, Colavita NM, finished the 11 km
course. By 2:50 p.m., Zoe's win was confirmed as she nudged out
Grace Alexander, BYRDS, by 0.10 seconds! Karla Lopez finished
third, +1:11.
After Zoe's win, the team was really
fired up! Philip O'Donnell matched Zoe's top spot on the
podium by winning the Men's 10-12 Time Trial. Philip dominated a
strong Men 10-12 field as he became our first boy member to win a
championship medal with his National Time Trial Title!
Dominique Shore passed five of her
competitors enroot to taking third place, the bronze medal, in the
Women's 10-12 classification.
Also competing in today's Junior National
Time Trial:
