Our team had a successful race weekend at Tour de Tuscaloosa on Saturday, March 28th, and Sunday, March 29th.  Saturday's races featured a 1.29-mile criterium course in downtown Tuscaloosa with the first race starting at 2 p.m.  Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, the road races were held on a 9.63-mile hilly circuit in Lake Lurleen Park.

Philip O'Donnell, 13, was our "weekend star".  He was the overall winner in the Junior's 10-14 Criterium on Saturday.  About three hours later, he placed third in the Men's Cat 4 Criterium - winning $100.  There were more than 50 in the field at the start. This was the performance of the weekend!  Philip was the youngest competitor in the race.

On Sunday, Philip broke away with his teammate Andrew Macrae, 14, in Sunday's Junior 13/14 Men's 20-mile road race. Our dynamic duo crossed the line about two minutes ahead of the field.  Andrew was first and Philip placed second.

  • Zoe Frazier won both Junior 13/14 Women's category races for the weekend.  Additionally, she won $130 by placing second in the Women's Cat 4 race on Saturday.

  • Dominique Shore was 2nd place in both Junior 13/14 Women's races and she won $75 by placing fourth in the Women's Cat 4 race on Saturday.

  • Melissa Goodman was third in the Junior Women's 13/14 criterium and the 20-mile road race.

  • Abigail Aldridge won the criterium and road race for Junior Women 10-12.

  • Nina Gummadi won the Junior Women's 15-18 30-mile road race on Sunday.

  • Kat Tindol had a very good weekend.  She was 5th in the Women's Cat 4 race, so she won $40. On Sunday, Kat was 4th in the Women's Cat 4 race ($35).

  • Along with his win in the Junior Men's 13/14 road race on Sunday, Andrew Macrae was 3rd in Saturday's Junior Men's 13/14 Criterium.

  • David Goodman won with Junior Men's 15-18 30-mile road race by almost three minutes on Sunday.  He was 3rd in Junior Men's 15-16 Criterium.

  • Hunter Lydick was 4th in the Junior Men's 15-18 30-mile road race.  He was the top 17/18 finisher.

  • Brody Harley was third in the Junior Men's 10-12 criterium on Saturday.

  • Matt Stanley was second in the Junior Men's 10-12 10-mile road race.
