2009 Fifth Round FC Kids/FCP Time Trial

Our fifth round of the 2009 Individual Time Trial Series was held Wednesday evening, July 8, 2009.  Thirty-four racers participated in the event.  Fourteen new personal records and one Junior Age Group Record were set.  

 

Twenty-five kids/juniors and nine adults competed against the clock on the 1.6-mile circuit at Shannon Way. 

 

New comers to our event were Kira Stanley and Tom Tomaka.

 

Joe Rosentel finished with the top average speed at 27.893 mph, which ranks as our fifth all-time fastestMike Tindol had the second fastest average speed, 27.494 mph, ranking as our tenth all-time fastest.

 

Kat Tindol led all women racers with her 25.098 mph average speed, which ranks as our second all-time fastest for women.

 

Philip O'Donnell set his personal record and our Boys' 13-year-old Age Group Record with his 26.729 mph.  This was the best average speed among all Juniors for the evening and it is the second all-time fastest behind David Goodman's 26.916 mph set on May 27, 2009.

AS ALWAYS, Coach Kelli and I encourage all of our Juniors to participate in every 3.2-mile ITT on the schedule.  Although the time trial is excellent practice for racing, more importantly, we use the results to measure each individual's fitness and progress.
